On 5 January 2019 Plymouth crab fisherman, David Cross and his son Kyle, inadvertently snagged an aircraft propeller when recovering their crab pots just off the western entrance to Plymouth Breakwater.
Plymouth at War was contacted by our friends Pete Holt and Mallory Haas at the Ships Project and asked if we could help identify the propeller. Initially, Pete thought it may have come from the Messerschmitt Bf109 we recently made a short film about. The German aircraft had crashed in a similar area in World War Two. |
